Kids’ birthday party invitations: what to include (and why a magnet works)
Paper party invitations have a way of vanishing between the classroom and the kitchen. A birthday invitation magnet goes straight on the fridge, so the date and address are always in front of mum and dad.
The checklist
- Who is turning how old
- Date and start and finish times
- The address, with parking or entry notes
- Theme, dress-up or what to bring (swimmers, a hat)
- RSVP name, number and “by” date
- Allergy question, if you are serving food
How early to send
Two to three weeks ahead is the sweet spot: enough notice for families to plan around weekend sport, not so early that it is forgotten.
Add a photo
A favourite photo of the birthday girl or boy turns the invitation into a keepsake that guests often keep on the fridge long after the party.
